Study shows that employers are becoming more concerned with looks when it comes to the workplace. I understand, if you’re in the service industry, stewardess, sales person, or real estate agents good looks is part of the sales kit. But what about those of us who sits in front of a desk and face a 17” all day? Study suggests that companies are now putting a greater emphasis on staff’s physical appearances, even for accountants. Accountancy firms have taken the plunge and encouraging employees to loosen up the tie to adopt more stylish and fashionable attires.
“It seems like looks are just as important as GCSE results when it comes to hiring staff”. Report has shown that companies are now becoming “lookists” in the workplace. But, would you blame them? Having an eye candy around surely boost work morale, right?!
With a reported salary difference up to 15% between the best and worst looking employees, I’ll think again before going to work without my makeup on!
